Privacy statement
Scope
This statement covers this website only. If you are a customer of a retailer that uses the Cetus platform, that retailer is responsible for your information and has its own privacy statement.
Who we are
This website is run by Cetus. We collect and hold the personal information described below. This statement is written for the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
When you use the contact form, we collect:
- your name, business name and email address
- your phone number
- what you are interested in
- the message you write to us
Our hosting provider also handles some technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to deliver and secure the website. To limit abuse of the contact form, your IP address is also held for a couple of minutes to count how many times it has been used, and is then discarded.
Please do not put passwords, payment details or customer records in your message.
Why we collect it
We use your information to read and reply to your enquiry, to discuss our services with you, and to keep a record of that conversation. We do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to, and we do not sell it.
Whether you have to provide it
Providing information through the form is voluntary, and no law requires it. If you leave out your name, email address or message, we will not be able to reply to you.
Who receives it
Your enquiry is received by the Cetus team at hello@cetus.tech.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and keeps a copy of each enquiry in access-controlled storage.
- Microsoft 365 delivers the enquiry to that mailbox.
Cloudflare may process this information outside New Zealand. We use providers that protect information in a way that is comparable to the New Zealand Privacy Act. We do not share your enquiry with anyone else unless you ask us to, or the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
We do not set cookies ourselves, and this website does not use analytics tools or advertising trackers. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site.
How we store it and how long we keep it
Enquiries are stored in access-controlled cloud storage and are deleted automatically after 12 months. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is wrong. We will respond within 20 working days. To make a request, contact us at hello@cetus.tech or use the contact form.
Complaints
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or on 0800 803 909.
Changes to this statement
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
