Cetus Platform · For retailers
One platform for energy retail.
A modular platform for New Zealand energy retailers. Customers, the energy market and billing work in one system. Use it for better billing, connections and the day-to-day work.
Modular
Start with what you need, add the rest later.
One system
Customers, market and billing stay in sync as things change.
Customer portal
Bills and accounts in a browser. On your domain if you want that.
How it fits together
One platform underneath everything you run.
Customers, the energy market, billing and your portal work in one system. Adding something new is switching on more of what is already there. Use it as an instance of your own, or on a shared one.

What it covers
What a retailer runs on.
Five modules, each useful on its own and better together. Choose one to see what it does.
01 Customers
One record for every customer.
Accounts, connections and history in a single place.
Everyone on your team sees the same customer, with every change and conversation recorded against the account.
- Customer, account and contact records
- Connections linked to each customer
- A full history of changes
02 Energy market
The market work, alongside everything else.
What New Zealand electricity retail asks of you, in one place.
Market processes run from the same records as billing, so your team is not rekeying between systems or chasing separate tools.
- Connection details kept up to date with the industry register
- Switching for customers joining and leaving
- Meter readings, checked and reported to the market
- Industry-standard market files sent and received for you (EIEP)
- Checks that help you meet your obligations
03 Billing
Bills your team can stand behind.
Produced from the same records, checked before they go out.
Set up your plans once, run bills on your schedule and review anything unusual before a customer sees it.
- Plans and tariffs
- Bills produced in one run, with a check before they go out
- Adjustments with a clear record
The web portal, open in a phone browser.
04 Customer portal
Bills and accounts, on your domain.
Customers see your business.
A web portal for your customers to view their bills and account, under your name and web address. It opens in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer.
- View bills and account details
- See electricity usage
- Your logo, colours and domain
- Mobile app options, if you want one
05 Connections
Works with the tools you already use.
Enter information once.
Link the platform to your accounting software and your own tools so information flows where it needs to go.
- Accounting software connections
- A way for your own tools to connect (API)
- Keep the systems that still fit
Putting it together
From first switch to final payment.
Follow one customer through the platform. Each step uses the same record, so nothing is entered twice.
- 01
Customer joins
A switch request arrives and the customer record is created.
Energy market - 02
Connection confirmed
The connection is matched to the customer and the plan.
Customers - 03
Usage arrives
Meter data comes in and is checked before it is used.
Energy market - 04
Bill is produced
The right plan is applied and the bill is reviewed before it goes out.
Billing - 05
Customer sees it
The bill appears in the portal and by email, in your name.
Customer portal - 06
Payment reaches your books
Invoices and payments flow to your accounting software.

One shared app that customers download and sign in to, with their bills, usage and account in one place.

Control and data
Built to be checked.
Energy bills affect real customers. The platform is designed so you can see who did what, and why.
Separate by design
Each retailer runs on its own data. On a shared instance, nothing is shared between businesses.
Access by role
People see and change what their role allows, and nothing more.
A full record
Every change to an account, a bill or a setting is recorded with who made it and when.
Reporting you can check
Dashboards and exports built from the same data your team works with every day.
Getting started
Moving across, with the people who built it.

Support
Your team, Cetus, or both.
Keep the customer conversations and decisions that matter most to your business. Hand over the routine work if you want to. Here is an example of how a retailer might set it up.
How support works
Three levels of support.
Start with what you need. Add more as your business grows or your team changes.
- 01
Platform support
Help with the software itself, whenever you need it.
- 02
Operational support
We run agreed tasks for you, as set out in writing, so you can hand over the work you would rather not do.
- 03
Hands-on help
Extra time when you need it, for projects, busy periods or one-off work.
Questions
Common questions about the platform.
Who is Cetus Platform for?
Energy retailers in New Zealand, from new entrants to established businesses that want modern billing, connections and operational software.
Do we need everything on day one?
No. Start with what you need today and add more later. Everything runs on the same system, so adding something new does not mean moving anything.
Do we have to share the platform with other retailers?
No. You can have an instance of your own, used only by your business. Or you can use a shared instance, where each retailer has its own space and its own data, kept apart from every other business.
Whose name is on the portals?
Your team works in the staff console under the Cetus name. Your customers use the customer portal under your own name, on your domain.
Can we move our existing customers across?
Yes. We map your current data, bring it across, and compare bills side by side before customers move. Switch-over happens on a date you agree.
Do we have to replace our other systems?
No. We connect to the systems you already use where that makes sense, and only replace what you want replaced.
Is there a mobile app?
The customer portal is a web application, so it works in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. If you want a mobile app as well, there are two ways. Customers can sign in to the shared Cetus app, or we can build an app under your own name. Tell us which suits your customers.
Is the platform only for electricity?
Yes. Today the platform is built for electricity retail in New Zealand.
Can we keep parts of our current setup?
Yes. Keep what works, such as your accounting software, and move the rest across at your pace.
What happens after we go live?
We stay close through the first bill cycles, and ongoing support is agreed with you in writing. See the support section on this page.
See the platform with your own business in mind.
Tell us what you run today and what you want to add. We will show you how it would look on Cetus.
